High G&T Event
What an incredible “Most Unusual” evening of fun and quirkiness at our High G&T event at Pepperclub Hotel & Spa, in Cape Town. Not only did we have fun meeting and networking with other like-minded women, but we learned so much from our guest speakers and sharing our life experiences with each other.
Thank you to our event sponsors Hendrick’s Gin, The Duchess Non-Alcoholic Gin & Tonic, Deetlefs Wine Estate, Fitch & Leedes as well as African Sales Company with Carolina Herrera Good Girl fragrances. We thoroughly enjoyed our tea-up cocktails and wine followed by a delicious two-course dinner.
A huge thank you to our guest speakers: Dr. Sedicka Laskery, from Skin Renewal, who spoke to us about Stress Management. Understanding what stress is, what causes stress (from a cellular level to chronic stress that affects our organs), integrative medical healing and also how to manage different stress. She gave us some useful tips on how to deal with overwhelming anxiety and tension too.
Our second guest speaker was Carla Geyser who started up Blue Sky Society, a NPO that creates awareness to protect our endangered African wildlife. She bravely leads all-women expeditions up into Africa ( with her pink rim Landy) to create awareness of the reality of animal extinction. She also shared with us some of her challenges and how she overcame some life obstacles to be where she is today. It’s not easy doing what is considered by others as a “mans job” and they are often looked down on. BUT she reminded us that women can do anything they put their hearts and minds to. Find your purpose, follow your passion and realise your dreams. Women need to support each other because together we are capable of achieving so much!
Also a big thank you to our prize sponsors: Pepperclub Hotel & Spa, Lou Lou’s Bar, Skin Renewal, ASCO – Carolina Herrera, Pure Romance by Theresa, Hendrick’s Gin, Deetlefs Wine Estate and GlamIt.
Through ticket sales and donations on the night, we raised money for the NPO Great Girls. A wonderful NPO that help girls less fortunate prepare for the working world.
Thank you to Alessia Boutique for dressing Janine Brink and Mischa Durrant for capturing the moments.
